Why choose DROPS Circus Crochet Hook?

Light Hook, Bright Handle: DROPS Circus hooks, listed by Garnstudio as Pro Circus, pair a 13 cm aluminum hook with a bright, color-coded grip handle. Vilrita stocks 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 6 and 8 mm.
Relaxed, Even Stitches: The colorful handle gives a fuller hold than a bare metal hook, which helps keep tension relaxed and stitches even, while the smooth aluminum shaft lets yarn slide without snagging.
Matched to DROPS Yarns: Use 2.5–3 mm for DROPS Safran amigurumi and lace, 3.5 mm for sport-weight garments, and 6 or 8 mm for chunky yarns such as DROPS Melody, which knits on 8 mm needles.

Description

DROPS Circus Crochet Hook – Colourful Aluminium Classic

The DROPS Circus crochet hook is a light, smooth aluminium hook that lets the yarn glide effortlessly — comfortable for long crochet sessions with everything from fine cotton to chunky yarn. Each size comes in its own cheerful colour, so the right hook is always easy to spot in your project bag.

Why choose DROPS Circus?

Smooth & Fast: Polished aluminium surface keeps stitches flowing without snagging.
Light in the Hand: Minimal weight reduces hand fatigue on bigger projects.
Colour-Coded Sizes: Every size has its own bright colour for instant identification.

TIPS & TRICKS

Pattern Tip: Each free Garnstudio pattern lists a hook size and gauge. Swatch 10 x 10 cm first: too many stitches, go up a size; too few, go down. For DROPS Safran toys, the 2.5 mm keeps single crochet tight enough to hide the stuffing.

About Product

What US size is a DROPS Circus crochet hook?

DROPS sizes are metric. 3.5 mm is US E-4, 6 mm is US J-10 and 8 mm is US L-11. The 2, 2.5 and 3 mm hooks fall between US letter sizes (B-1 is 2.25 mm, C-2 is 2.75 mm), so go by the millimeter figure given in your pattern.

Should I buy single DROPS Circus hooks or the Pro Circus set?

Single hooks make sense if you mostly crochet in one or two sizes, or need the 8 mm, which the set doesn't include. The DROPS Pro Circus Crochet Hook Set gathers nine sizes from 2 to 6 mm in one case and is the easier route if you crochet across several yarn weights.

Is a 13 cm crochet hook long enough?

Yes, 13 cm (5.1 in) is a standard length, and the handle gives the back of the hook a fuller grip in either pencil or knife hold. Crocheters with large hands sometimes prefer a longer hook that rests further into the palm; the KnitPro Zing Crochet Hook measures 15 cm (6 in).
