Gazzal Darling is a 100% viscose yarn with a smooth, silky hand and a soft natural sheen. It feels cool against the skin and drapes beautifully, which is exactly what you want from summer tops, flowing cardigans, dresses and delicate shawls. Each 100 g skein holds 315 metres, so a little goes a long way – some of our customers have knitted a whole summer top from just one skein.

How much Gazzal Darling for a dress or cardigan?

Plan on about 4–5 skeins for a summer dress or a loose cardigan in size M. Sport-weight dresses and cardigans typically need 1,100–1,500 m, and each 100 g skein holds 315 m, so 1,100–1,500 m ÷ 315 m gives 4–5 skeins. Longer lengths and larger sizes may need a sixth skein.

Is Gazzal Darling good for crochet?

Yes, it crochets smoothly on a 2.5–4 mm hook, and the viscose drape makes open crochet tops, mesh bags and lacy shawls hang softly. Viscose has little give, so long chain spaces can stretch with wear; choose patterns with shorter chains or a firmer stitch for bags.

Gazzal Darling or a cotton blend for a summer top?

Choose Darling for drape and shine, and a cotton blend for more structure. Darling is 100% viscose, with 315 m per 100 g, and gives fluid blouses and evening tops. DROPS Belle, with 53% cotton, 33% viscose and 14% linen at 120 m per 50 g, sits in between: breathable, with a softer sheen.

Can Gazzal Darling be machine washed?

Hand washing is the safer choice for viscose. Use cool water with a mild detergent, press the water out in a towel without wringing, and dry the piece flat. Viscose is weaker when wet, so support the whole garment when lifting it and never hang it up to dry.
