How many balls of YarnArt Milano for a hat?

Usually 2 balls for an adult beanie. A hat in DK-weight yarn typically takes 180–250 m, and each 50 g ball of Milano holds 130 m. A slouchy hat, a folded brim or a pompom in the same yarn can need a third ball, and matching mittens add roughly two more.

Is YarnArt Milano warm?

Yes, for its weight. The 20% wool and 8% alpaca add natural warmth, and the light halo traps air between the stitches, so hats, mittens and snoods feel cosy without bulk. The 64% acrylic keeps the fabric light and easy to wear, while the 8% viscose adds a little drape.

Can you crochet with YarnArt Milano?

Yes, on the 4 mm hook from the label. The heathered colour and soft halo look best in simple stitches such as half double crochet, moss stitch or front and back post ribbing, ideal for hats, cowls and mittens. Swatch first, and remember crochet uses more yarn than knitting at the same weight.

YarnArt Milano vs Stylish Alpaca: what's the difference?

Milano is a four-fibre DK blend of acrylic, wool, alpaca and viscose in 50 g balls of 130 m, with an even heathered look for 4 mm tools. YarnArt Stylish Alpaca is a finer sport weight, 75% acrylic and 25% alpaca, in 150 g gradient cakes of 525 m that stripe on their own.
